Our Space
He: What is it then?
Anima-Voice: It is being. Being in the soul.
He: Is this what you want, what soul wants?
Anima-Voice: Out, everywhere, space.
He: I move in your space.
Anima-Voice: I move you in our space.
He: Our space?
James Hillman.
Our space! Mitoludens is devoted to Nature and Culture in Myths & Arts. Myths are here studied through the lens of Archetypal Psychology and our approach aims at those who are or wish to be fully engaged in the playful world of arts. Ludens comes from the Latin word ludere which means to play, to be fully engaged (see the article Play!). Mitoludens offered the Mythology intensive course at the Brasilia Botanic Garden (Brazil) in 2008/2009, located in a green area nearby the Lago Sul in Brasilia, where the Cerrado biodiversity is preserved. In 2010, Mitoludens is in Natal / RN, northest part of Brazil with the most clean and beautiful Brazilian beaches. Serio ludere! Mitoludens brings a deep connection to both Culture and Nature through Mythology, Music/Voice/Poetry, Cinema, Theatre-Dance, Native Culture and Yoga. Mitoludens has also a Library that is devoted to mythological and art studies. Our lens to look through the Mythology are the studies of Archetypal Psychology inspired by James Hillman, Ginette Paris, David Miller, Joseph Campbell, Christine Downing, Marion Woodman, Henry Corbin, Rafael Lopez-Pedraza, Enrique Pardo, among many other brilliant minds who followed and expanded Carl Jung studies. Laboratories in Mythological Studies are offered by Luciana Aires Mesquita, MA in Mythological Studies with emphasis in Depth Psychology, Pacifica Graduate Institute, CA to those interested to link sacred stories to soul, body and voice. Psychologists, artists, ecologists and all cultivators of the soul are welcome. The IV Mythological Studies Series begun on the third weekend of April/2009. An open class was offered on March 28th, 2009. Our plans to 2010 is to be offering our courses on Mythology in different cities besides Brasília.
Theatre-Dance at Mitoludens is inspired by the experience intensely lived with Enrique Pardo (Panthéâtre), Kazuo Ohno (Yokohama, Japan), Noh, Buyo (Tokyo, Japan), Kathakali (India), Baris (Indonesia), Odin Theatre (Denmark) and other inspirations from Ariane Mnouschkine (Theatre du Soleil), Maurice Durozier, Pina Baush, Peter Brook, Artaud, Grotowski, Antunes, Graziela Rodrigues (UNICAMP), all the UnB professors, LUME and good friends such as Mariza Vargas Mendes Campos, Marcella Hollanda, Simone Reis, Rita de Cássia de Almeida Castro, Julia Pascali (UFG), Toshi and Ciça, Eliana Carneiro to a body of voice, soul and poetry. Intense trainee to actors and dancers (professional and amateurs are welcome) are offered. Mitoludens is specially linked to PANTHEATRE and is preparing worshops in different cities in Brasil to December 2010, linked also to the project PANTHEATRE CHILE.The workshop Choreographic Theatre & Voice Performance by Enrique Pardo was recently offered at the Federal University of Goiás. You can access Enrique Pardo´s seminars on Alchemy and Schools of Theatre: Mercury, Sulphur & Salt and the Myths of the Voice: Pequeno Concerto Des-Concertante at Theatre-Dance Mitoludens link. Enjoy also the PhotoGallery for the workshop Creative Actor -- imagination is a muscle to be worked by Maurice Durozier ~ actor from Théâtre du Soleil.
In music we are free from partitura! Inspired by the Brazilian musician Guilherme Vaz, Pantheatre, Roy Hart, the Vox Mundi Project, Paulucci, Hindu harmoniums, traditional Afro-Brazilian music, Indigenous and Tibetan songs we let ourselves express our soul giving voice in our bodies to unknown sounds and forgotten cultures. Poetry is intensely lived at Mitoludens; Rumi and Hafiz (sec. XIII-XIV) are our friends! As well as Cora Coralina. We recorded them in a Cd that you may appreciate and order yours "Rumi Hafiz Cora" at Poetry/Music/Voice link. Our next project is to put together a symphony of traditional instruments to play the Poem of Maize with corn myth themes from the three Americas. See Maize Poem´s Project. To record Hafiz will be an ecstasy!
Native Culture has a special place at Mitoludens. The Brazilian national week of indigenous people was celebrated at Mitoludens together with the Kayapo people who offered a workshop on Traditional Kayapo Body Painting. Due to its outstanding success, the same family were invited to the Encontro de Culturas Tradicionais at Chapada dos Veadeiros - GO and 77 Kayapo people joined the meeting in rituals and dance. In November 2009, Luciana Aires Mesquita is going to the Festa das Mulheres (Women´s Party) at their place in Pará - Amazon.
Some monthly cultural Events were played to a larger public. Mawaca group gifted us in a full moon night of songs, Voices of the World. In cinema, Tamboro, a grand movie, was presented for the first time in Brazil at Mitoludens! Sergio Bernardes, the film director and Guilherme Vaz, conductor and composer, presented us a night full of shocking beautiful images and music of the anima mundi in Brazil. The movie Un Soleil à Kaboul followed by a dialogue with Maurice Durozier from Théâtre du Soleil was exhibited at Alliance Française.
Yoga and Tai Chi have been our daily integrative practices. Luceni Bartolatto offers Iyengar Yoga at Lago Sul and Asa Sul and Thadeu Martins offers Classical Yoga at the Botanic Garden every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.
Natural Culinary is prepared with so much care by Aida during the Myth classes. Vegetarian and natural food specialists are occasionally invited to give cooking class.
In Nature we are. Inspired by James Hillman in The Practice of Beauty, by Stephen Aizenstat in Dream Tending, Jung at Bollingen and Native People, we make our practice. Our partner in Brasília, the Botanic Garden, is a treasure that keeps the cerrado´s heart in beauty providing us immersions within nature.
Mitoludens was baptized by the traditional Bakairi people (MT). It is a space of meeting, creativity and research to artists, ecologists, psychologists and possible partners who are interested to walk in the beauty way. See some of our Articles, check out our programs to Register in Mythology and other activities and welcome to Become a Member! Any doubt, please Contact us!
There are gods in our ideas. James Hillman.
